Purpose
The Christian Education Committee promotes the education of
the members of St. Mark in the field of Biblical knowledge and in applying that knowledge to the living of the Christian life.

Children's
Ministries
Nursery Roll
Parents of children in this group receive periodic mailings on age-appropriate materials
for beginning Christian training and ideas.
Nursery
For those 3 years of age and under, a staffed nursery is provided on the lower level at the 9:30a.m. Sunday worship.
Sunday School
Provides Christian instruction along with a worship experience
for any child beginning at age 4. Sunday school is available from September through May. Vacation Bible School and other activities
are available during the summer season.
Vacation Bible School
This session is one week in length, usually offered in July or the first week of August.
Children's
Events
For
Easter and Christmas, events are held from 10:00a.m. to 10:45a.m. on Good Friday and Christmas Eve. Children sing songs, hear
the special story told by Pastor Jay, share a snack and do a simple craft. Great fun for kids and parents!!! Other activities
and children's events are planned throughout the year.
Youth Classes
1st Bible Training
A
two session class offered for 9 year olds and their parents. Watch for details and dates.
1st Communion Training
1st Communion Training for
kids age 10 and older are held on a Saturday in May. Please call the church to register. First communion will be on
the following Sunday. Watch (or call) for dates.
Confirmation-(Catechism)
This is a three year course of study, beginning in the fall of the 6th grade year and concluding
with a Confirmation service in October of the 9th grade year. Students will study and memorize the Lord's Prayer, the Apostles
Creed, the 10 Commandments, and the Books of the Bible. The class will take a number of field trips to other places of worship.
Each class will include a time of fellowship, where they will play some games and get to know one another better. The class
is taught by Pastor Jay Trygstad. Contact Pastor Jay for more details.
Lutheran Youth Organization-(LYO)
LYO is for grades 7-12. They participate in Bible Studies,
discussion groups, fund raisers and activities; some of which are: Acquire the Fire, Missons trips, rope challenge courses,
rock climbing, skiing. Visit the LYO page for more information and list of activities.
Senior High
This group is a part of the LYO. Christian fellowship.
Bible study, and discussion groups are just a part of what is available.
Scholarships
These are awarded annually to deserving graduates who are members of St. Mark Lutheran Church.
An application form for the Anita E. Korensky Scholarship Fund is available on this web site and in the church office.
Adult
Classes
Kingdom Weekend
Offered as a spiritual growth retreat.
Reunion Groups
Groups of 3-7 people who meet weekly to encourage and support
one another in our Christian life. All are welcome.
Adult Bible Study
A group meets every Wednesday morning at
9:30 in the Fellowship Hall for Bible Study. There are two Sunday morning Bible Studies available, one at 9:30am
in the Fellowship Hall headed by Mark Kuehner. A Women's Bible study is available on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm
which is held in the narthex. There is a men's Bible study at 7:00pm on Wednesday evenings held off campus at Panini
Xpresso headed by John Carey.
Throughout
the winter months other opportunities are offered such as Financial Peace University - a course on personal stewardship
and The Truth Project, a 13 week course on understanding the Scriptures and Jesus our Savior. Watch the Announcements Page,
