The Christian Education Committee promotes the education of the members of St. Mark in the field of Biblical knowledge and in applying that knowledge to the living of the Christian life.

Children’s Ministries

Sunday School

Provides Christian instruction along with a worship experience. Sunday School is held from 9:05 am to 9:50 am every Sunday from September through May for ages 4 through 6th grade. Any questions please contact Kim Ulrich 708-926-4829.

Vacation Bible School

This session is one week in length, usually offered in July or the first week of August on weekday evenings.

Book Finders

Will be meeting on the second Thursday of the month at 10:30 AM in the Narthex. Books can be borrowed from Palos Heights Library, just mention Bookfinders. We would love to have you join us. Any questions please call Margaret Coffey at 708-705-0875.

Youth Ministry

Confirmation-(Catechism) 

This is a two year course of study, beginning in the fall for the 7th & 8th graders and concluding with a Confirmation service in Spring. Class meets every Wednesday from 7 PM to 8:15 PM. Students will study and memorize the Lord’s Prayer, the Apostles Creed, the 10 Commandments, and the Books of the Bible. This small group focuses on: today’s issues that teens are facing, developing peer support, enhancing their Christian worldview, and reinforcing God’s direction in their lives. Each class will include a time of fellowship, where they will play some games and get to know one another better. The class is taught by Deacon Stevens. Scholarships

These are awarded annually to deserving graduates who are members of St. Mark Lutheran Church. An application form for the Anita E. Korensky Scholarship Fund is available here and in the church office.

Adult Ministry

Adult Bible Study

On the Second and Fourth Monday evenings of each month, the Bible study will be from 7 PM to 8 PM on Zoom. We will be studying the book “The Story” By Max Lucado & Randy Frazee. This is God’s great love affair with humanity. Anyone interested in joining in please contact Beverly Muscarella at 708-233-6751. All are welcome.

New Bible Studying starting Wednesday, September 20th 6:30pm to 8:00pm. This will be led by Deacon Stevens. The study will be “This Book We Call the Bible”. Any questions, contact Deacon Stevens at 630-642-9620.

“Why am I here?” Bible Study

St. Mark Rockers
